Biofilm Research

        We perform studies on Legionella in biofilms and Legionella disinfection methods, including biocide testing using a model plumbing system.  These studies are performed by graduate students from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Engineering and Carnegie Mellon University under the direction of Dr. Janet Stout.

        A state-of-the-art model plumbing system is used to investigate biofilm-associated Legionella in the water distribution systems.
